On June 16, 2020, Chinese Red Cross Foundation (CRCF)’s “Fraternity School Clinic” project, which is funded by GenSci Pharmaceutical, won the “Annual Charity Project” of the 17^th (2020) China Charity List.

So far, as one of the main sponsors of the “Fraternity School Clinic” project, GenSci has supported the training for more than 1,900 primary and secondary school doctors and kindergarten health doctors, funded 1 million yuan for the construction of the “Fraternity School Clinic”, and assisted in the construction of 10 Fraternity School Clinics in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.

Ensuring the health and safety of children and improving the quality of children’s health is an important component in the implementation of the Healthy China Strategy. The school clinic provides the basis for the school to carry out health activities, and the school doctor is the executor of students’ health education and management. After investigating the current school clinic situation in more than 900 primary and secondary schools across six provinces, CRCF discovered that there are many problems in primary and secondary schools in Central and Western China. These problems include insufficient number of school clinic and school doctors, lack of training and development opportunities for school doctors, and insufficient health education resources etc.

Based on current, actual requirements, CRCF launched the “Fraternity School Clinic” project in 2016. The project aims to implement the core mission of the Red Cross Movement of protecting life and health, providing economic assistance to underdeveloped areas, improving campus medical and health conditions, ameliorating the health quality of teenagers and children, and promoting the development of China's campus health system.

The “Fraternity School Clinic” project covers the construction of “Fraternity School Clinics” for primary and secondary schools in the central and western regions, as well as the provision of basic medical care, health examination and the first-aid rescue training equipment for schools; the project also provides follow-up education and training for school doctors and health care personnel; it provides funding to schools to enable them to carry out routine student health examinations and disease screening; it also assists with school design and the provision of public safety education, life and health education, Red Cross rescue training and other courses.

By the end of December 2019, CRCF had built 156 “Fraternity School Clinics” in 10 provinces including Guizhou, Gansu, Ningxia, Sichuan, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei and Xinjiang. It also trained more than 2,000 school doctors and provided free health examinations for nearly 40,000 students.

As a public welfare partner of CRCF, GenSci has been actively observing its social responsibility and paying attention to children's health for a long time. Over the past ten years, GenSci has donated goods and funds with a total value of 243 million yuan to CRCF. Subsidized medication was provided to more than 1,900 dwarf patients from needy families, to achieve their dreams of growing tall true.

In the future, GenSci will continue to sincerely and enthusiastically support public welfare, pay attention to the health of Chinese dwarf children and of Chinese people.
